I have lived in the Yorkton, SK area my whole life and have operated a third-generation farm for many of those years. Throughout my farming career I have grown cereal crops, pulse crops, oilseed crops, specialty crops, silage, etc, either for myself or as Custom work for other farms. I also raised cattle and had a few horses. I had farmed as many as 17,000 acres together with my father through some of those years. I have always found the BioAgronics Crop program to be very affordable and have used them for well over 30 years, no matter which land or crops I was farming. With the direct delivery to either the farm or the local depot, it has always been very accessible. The company has great resources for more information and are always available to talk if you have any questions. My over 30 years of experiences with these products could never be summed up in a few short pages, so for now I will just share the results and the pictures from my last years barley Crop. The BioAgronics products I used religiously every year are Electro-Dyne, Bio-X, Stim-Gro, Dyna-Grow, Feed Grade Urea.
As always, each and every year, my spring burn off program consisted of spraying ¾ litre of Round Up and 5 oz of Electro- Dyne. I achieved superior results in a total burn off of weeds, even the hard to kill dandelions and thistles. Within 24 hours, if I dug out the roots, I could see evidence of the root dying, and within 4 days the top growth was fully brown. The ground was ready for seeding within 24 hours of spraying. I always had very clean crops. The Electro-Dyne aids in the quicker and more efficient uptake of the chemical used to help expedite burn off and has several residual soil benefits as well. It works by changing the surface tension which aids in aeration and water movement. It also helps reduce soil compaction and hard pan and more.
In 2019 I grew Copeland Barley on our own acres as well as several hundred custom acres. The examples here in the pictures were seeded the 16th of June, and up until that time there had been very little to no moisture. I seeded as usual with an air drill. And harrow packed right behind. The fertilizer blend used was 75lb actual N and 15lb actual sulfur liquid fertilizer and a 1lb actual dry Phosphate. It rained 1.5 inches the following day after seeding and did not rain again until August long weekend
when we got 1 inch. No more rain came before harvest that year.
The seed was treated with the Stim-Gro. I have a small 5 gal tank that was attached to my auger and I would mix the Stim-Gro with water and a hose ran down and treated the seed as I was auguring it from the truck to the air seeder tank. I always added the Bio-X soil treatment at a rate of approximately .8 of a litre per acre (1 pail for 25 acres) to the liquid fertilizer as well.
There are several reasons I have used this recipe over the other seed treatments I have tried in the past. The Stim-Gro and Bio-X are all natural products, there for there is no toxicity to myself or anyone helping, there are no dyes added, so there is no cleaning out if augers, trucks, etc. The stim-Gro is a seed enhancer that is made of ingredients that also stimulate the organisms in the soil. This results in even germination in a good growing year or if the crop is under stress, whether it be drought or to much moisture, or whatever. The Bio-X is a product that boosts the fertilizer productivity, and adds microbes to the soil that it needs to help avoid disease, stimulate root growth, helps break down residue, etc.
The results I have gotten have always been easily and quickly noticeable. I found the plants germinated quicker, poked out of the ground quicker, had a white (not yellow) root that was longer with visibly more healthy hairs on it, etc. The stems as they emerged were measurably thicker than others that had not been treated and stooled well with an average of 5-7 stools.
At about the 35th day I sprayed for what few weeds were there, provided disease protection and foliar feed as well. The
chemical mixture for my barley was Achieve for wild oats at ½ normal rate, BuctrilM at ¾ normal rate, Tilt at ½ rate. To that I added 1 litre per acre of Dyna-Gro mixed with .92 lbs per acre food grade urea.
The crop got a second spray later in the season of Bumper at ¾ rate mixed with the above Dyna-Gro/Urea Mixture. The Dyna- Gro/Urea mixture supplies essential nutrients to help the plants grow and thrive, aids in improved intake of the chemical and helps with stress and disease resistance as well.
I straight cut harvested in October that year. Due to weather, and heavy crop conditions the crop was down and twisted. Even
so the stems were strong and the heads were filled completely. The heads were 17 pairs high. The crop yielded 110 bu of 54 lb barley per acre. The crop was weed and wild oat free. It had a no green count either. We had a couple nights of light frost and we had frost damage at all. Not a bad crop for a year with very little rain. I sold it all to a feed lot that was very happy with it. Just to quickly sum things up I can say without any doubt I have always had great success with the BioAgronics products. Individually the products all provide some benefit, but I achieved the best success because I utilized the whole program. Some results are visible right away but you get better and better results each year forward. By regaining the soil health, and
sustaining that with continued usage of the products, all while minimizing my chemical footprint, I was able to achieve things I never thought possible as a farmer. After experiencing complete crop devastation by hail one year, and then being hit by frost on more than one occasion mid growing season other years, I have put these products to the most extreme tests. I can say that I have had never not harvested a decent crop even in those years, much to both my surprise and the farmers around me. Even though I am no longer farming on a large level, I still use the products on a smaller scale with my Ag company, and highly recommend them to every farmer I meet. The experience I have gained and the knowledge that was shared to me by the BioAgronics team will not go to waste. I have joined them as a field/farm advisor and would gladly share more of my
experiences and product recommendations with you over a coffee as well.
Here’s a couple pics of a quarter that had been taken right over by foxtail. Round up alone wouldn’t clean it up. We suggested he try the Electro-Dyne with it. His words “Holy $h:t, it killed that shit totally and quickly. He sprayed it out in the fall of 2021, gave it a quick spray again in spring 2022 to prepare for seeding and seeded it to canola.
He sprayed the crop with Dyna-Gro 2xs and the last pics are the evidence of the nice looking clean canola crop he pulled off that quarter.
The neighbors all came by and asked him how got rid of the foxtail? He said “I never had so many folks stop by on all the years I lived here. 📷 When would tell them how, a few of them made the comment that it was snake oil.. my answer was “the proof was in the field and I don’t give a shit what you call it when it works that good.” 📷
Plus he shared that after those wet years he had up here, it was nice to see how well the electro-dyne helped with drainage, allowing him to reclaim small slough areas, and break up large lumps easier from working it up the fall before, etc.

These pics show the difference between the Dyna-Gro sprayed and unsprayed test strip of a park reserve hay field that was sprayed at the end of June in 2021. We took the pictures approx 10 days after spraying. You can see a significant difference in both the grass and the alfalfa. We were pleasantly surprised that this sprayed area came back stronger than the Unsprayed fields and test strip in 2022 as well. And that year started out cold, we had frost, and then extreme heat before we got any rain in June.
We do use the Dyna-Gro on our crops too.. it’s a no brainer. It’s affordable and we can see the results with stronger, healthier crops. On a side note, we buy the feed grade urea from these guys too, it dissolves quickly and completely, there’s no mess clogging up spray tips, or left to clean out at the bottom of a tank.

This is the second year in a row that I’ve used the BioAgronics products.
I used the Stim-Gro seed treatment, the barley emerged strong, and didn’t seem to suffer from the frost it was exposed to early after coming up last year. It didn’t seem as stressed in the dry heat that followed either.
For in crop broadleaf weed control I used 66% of the recommended infinity chemical with 1 litre of the Dyna-Gro.
For wild oat control I used liquid achieve, cut back a third as well and added in the 1 litre of Dyna-Gro.
Each time I’ve had really good weed kill, even the hard to kill weeds were dead, and there was no set back or chemical stress issue visible on the crop.
Last year the crops had a hard start with little moisture to follow, but still they had a strong finish and bushelled out nice and clean. I could certainly see where the products made a difference. I am looking forward to seeing similar results this year.
Dyna-Gro Review
June 9 2023
Just like every other farm in southern Sk, we had a problem with wild oats. We sprayed the Durham Wheat in crop with a mixture of Simplicity and Dyna-Gro. We used 70% of the recommended amount of simplicity with 1 litre of Dyna-Gro to 12.5 gallons of water.
Within 1.5 days you could see the wild oat dying out. When we pulled a few out they came out clean. But what impressed us the most is there was no evidence of stress on the wheat. So far we are pretty impressed with both the Electro-Dyne and the Dyna-Gro.
